Once the leaf is fully coated and the layers have dried, the piece is gently hand fired with a torch. During firing, the organic components of both the leaf and the silver clay burn away completely, leaving behind a solid structure of 99.9% pure silver—known as fine silver. What remains is a stunning silver replica of the original leaf, preserving its unique textures and contours in gleaming metal.
